I am blessed to work at the Home of the Brave, my classroom and public schools.

Alison Gauld: Hello! My name is Alison Gauld and I am a special education teacher in a public elementary school. The students in my class have significant cognitive disabilities in conjunction with additional disabilities including speech and language processing, motor skills, autism, physical disabilities, and various syndromes. The students spend a portion of their day within the general education classroom and participate in the academics with modifications and/or support. I believe that education is the greatest gift we can give to our children. All children can learn and should be given the opportunity to do so. I also believe int he power of public education. However, the education system of the Untied States, while good, is not perfect. Fantastic and dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and amazing students all combine to create a complicated system. Together, through sharing our dreams and ideas, we can make the education system even better. Thanks for joining me in the dialog. I look forward to the future of education!
